The Variety of Changing Lives Through Literature

If ever there was one, Changing Lives Through Literature is a grassroots venture. In its more than 12-year history, the vision of CLTL has attracted a large group of dedicated participants. By its very nature, CLTL fosters diversity in instructor approaches, student populations, class guidelines, sentencing, and other strategies.

In this section, the variety of CLTL is demonstrated through a number of essays written by experienced participants and organized under the headings of Changing Lives, In the Classroom, Gender Issues, Sentencing Issues, and Literacy. We don't always agree with each other, which is part of the beauty of CLTL, but we do embrace and respect our differences and move forward, hoping to change lives, each in our own fashion.
