Lynn-Lowell Statistics

Number of participants who began program = 108
Number of participants who complete program = 70

Percentage of participants assigned from Lowell = 34.3 per cent
Percentage of participants assigned from Lynn = 65.7 per cent

Percentage of graduates from Lowell = 51.4 per cent
Percentage of graduates from Lynn = 71.8 per cent [note: direct judicial participation]

Of 70 total graduates, 40 per cent have re-offended, and 60 per cent have remained trouble free.
Of 38 non-completers, 48 per cent have re-offended, and 52 per cent have remained trouble free.

An analysis of the types of crimes committed shows that with graduates, 29.6 per cent of the new offenses were committed against people, 25.9 per cent were property offenses, 62.9 per cent violated alcohol/drug laws, and 44.4 per cent committed misdemeanor infractions of motor vehicle laws.

An analysis of the types of crimes committed by non-completers shows that 37.5 per cent committed crimes against people, 43.75 per cent committed crimes against property, 62 per cent violated alcohol/drug laws, and 37.5 per cent committed misdemeanor infractions of motor vehicle laws.

Out of the 70 graduates, we have education background information on 59. Of those 59, the numbers are as follows: 21 had no high school diploma or equivalent (35.5 per cent), and 38 had a high school diploma or equivalent or better (64.4 per cent).

Out of the 38 non-completers, we have education background information on 30. Of those 30, the numbers are as follows: 11 had no high school diploma or equivalent (36.6 per cent), and 19 had a high school diploma or equivalent or better (63.3 per cent).

Ages of the participants ranged from 19-48 years, with an average age of 31 years.
